Effectiveness

This is one bath soak that gets the job done and helps relieve your sore and achy muscles almost instantly. No matter what you were doing, at the gym, standing all day at work, sitting in the office, at a manual labor job, this soak has you covered. Drawing a bath and adding in Radox Muscle Soak is going to make your muscles relax and feel better. The heated water itself is going to help on its own but the addition of this Sage and Sea Mineral scented body soak is going to help even more. This bath soak has a special blend of expertly blended herbs that are built for long-lasting therapeutic relief specifically formulated for muscle tension and pain.

Color

One of the cons and problems that customers had with the bath soak is that the blue color is synthetically added in. Most people didn't like the unnecessary unnatural color that was a little shockingly bright the first time that used it. The blue, however, won't stain your skin so that's one less thing to worry about. If you have a tub/shower combo and have a light-colored shower curtain make sure it's on the outside of the tub before you use this soak or else you risk it staining the curtain.

Scent

The clary sage and sea mineral scent is formulated for relaxation and to invoke a herbal almost medicine type of feel. This is the case so you mentally actually feel like its working more than it may actually be. The ingredients list clary sage oil as an ingredient so that part of the fragrance is an all-natural essential oil. The rest of the blend is a synthetic blend of perfumes that give more body to the fragrance. If you don't like the scent of this bath soak but like the effects, it has you might want to try another scent from their line instead.

Varieties

If you loved this bath soak and wanted to try more from their line or was not too happy with the scent and wanted to see if you liked another better they have many options from the bath soak line and even some other products that they make. The clary sage and sea mineral formula is specifically to target muscle soreness but they have other scents to target different things. There is a pomegranate apple scent for waking you up and feeling active, rosemary and eucalyptus for stress relief, camomile and jasmine for dozing off, lavender and water lily for feeling relaxed, and black pepper and ginseng for muscle therapy. That's all your choices for just the restoration line of bath soaks, they also produce a variety of bath oils, bath bombs, bath salts, and creamy bath soaks.

Brand

Radox is a well-known and established company that specializes in bath and body care products. They produce an array of shower products, bath products, and handwashes. They originated in the United Kingdom in 1908 and have since expanded to having their products sold worldwide. Its not the small company it used to be and is now owned by the large corporation Unilever. The first product they ever created was a foot soak similar to epsom salts, they have come quite a long way since then with the vast variety of products they create now.

Application

This formula they are created is much easier to use than some bath soaks that come in powder form. This already a concentrated liquid ready to just pour into hot bathwater. The last thing you want to be doing when trying to take a relieving and relaxing bath is having a hard time mixing the product into the water or having trouble with the packaging. This is as easy as unscrewing the cap and pouring just a small amount in, the formula is very concentrated so a little will go a long way. Which also means that your bottle will last you longer. After you pour the bath soak in your relaxing bath is ready to enjoy.

Use

Are you sore from training at the gym? Standing at work? Sitting at the office? Or your calves just ache from walking around the city or from jogging? The Radox Muscle Soak Bath Therapy is here for exactly that reason, to lessen any muscle aches and pains associated with overuse or building muscle. With how many products there are on the market these days for muscle pain relief there is no need to spend any time with pains and aches.
Just warm baths themselves will help alleviate sore muscles, adding in a bath soak made to specifically target muscle aches will add even more relief. The scent of the clary sage and sea minerals will create a relaxing bath that will also lessen tension and speed muscle healing.
DOMS or also known as delayed-onset muscle soreness is the pain you get in your muscles a day or two after working out. If you have started a new workout routine or are working muscles you usually don't you will most likely experience DOMS as your muscles are healing. This soak would be great to help lessen those aches and pains.

Formula

Customers are loving the formulation of this bath soak. Unlike traditional epsom salt bath soaks this comes already in a liquid form. This means you don't have to worry about making sure all the crystals are dissolved so it doesn't feel like getting in a bath full of sand. It also makes the process of drawing a bath faster so that you're not wasting any precious time mixing everything up. It produces a foamy bubble bath which customers love for relaxation and the feeling of being clean. On top of that people love that the liquid formula is ultra-concentrated which means they don't have to use as much and can save money in the long run by buying fewer bottles.

Sizes

If you are looking for different size options for the product they unfortunately only manufacture the one size which is a 500 ml bottle. This is a pretty standard size in terms of bath soaks on the market. If you were looking for a jumbo bottle or a travel-sized bottle they don't currently make them. In terms of jumbo-sized so you don't have to purchase as often they offer multi-packs on Amazon so you don't need to order as frequently. For travel-sized needs, you could simply buy a small-sized bottle specifically for travel liquids and transfer some from your big bottle.

Ingredients

Radox includes a lot of ingredients in their muscle soaks, to some, this is a great thing and makes the product more effective but to some with allergies or looking for something more natural and pure it might not be ideal.

The listed ingredients on the bottle are: Aqua, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Sodium chloride, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Citric acid, Parfum, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Propylene glycol, Salvia Sclarea Oil, Maris Sal, Sodium benzoate, Sodium lactate, Tetrasodium EDTA, Trideceth-9, Benzyl alcohol, Benzyl Salicylate, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Linalool, CI 19140, CI 42090.

The higher an ingredient is to the top the more potent it is in the formula, this means the Radox Muscle Soak Bath Therapy is mostly comprised of water, SLS which is the main ingredient in most body washes and soaps as a foaming cleansing agent, and salt. The rest of the ingredients afterward are more cleansing agents, preservatives, salt from the dead sea, dyes, and some synthetic fragrance and essential oils.

The reason they use dead sea salt in this bath soak is that it's known to have direct benefits for sore muscles. Like epsom salt, dead sea salt is only a small amount of actual salt and is comprised of mostly minerals. These minerals find their way into the muscles through the skin and help heal the muscles though replacing lost minerals in the muscles and in the body.

They advertise this as an all-natural product and give it a herbal natural scent but its actually far from it. If you are looking for a more natural alternative you can DIY your own by mixing epsom salts in water with a few drops of your favorite essential oils.

Precautions

When using this soak take care to read the ingredients first to make sure you are not allergic to any of the ingredients. If you have sensitive skin it's advised to do a patch test on the inside of your arm first to see if you have any adverse reactions to the product. If you do happen to get red itchy skin or any bumps, rashes or hives discontinue use immediately.
Make sure to keep away from your eyes as face as the skin on your face is usually more delicate than the rest of your body and is more prone to sensitivities. The cleaning ingredients and the essential oil will burn if they come in contact with your eyes. If you get any in your eyes by accident make sure you flush with cold water until all of the bath soak is out.

Bottom Line

If you are looking for a product to soothe tired and achy overworked muscles and don't care about how natural a product is then the Radox Muscle Soak Bath Therapy is the product for you. If you are at the gym training or just have fatigued muscles from work, sports or everyday life this bath soak will help you relax and unwind at the end of the day.
It's easy to use concentrated liquid formula means that there is no mess and fuss when preparing your bath and that the product is sure to last you a while even with frequent use. Just draw a hot bath, dump in a small amount of the bath soak in while the water is filling up and watch the bubbles form along with a pleasant aroma of clary sage and sea minerals.
The blue dye in the product is one of those things you either hate or really don't mind. If your skin is sensitive to synthetic dyes and fragrances this may be one to avoid but if not you can imagine a bright blue ocean that soaks your muscle pain away.
Radox has some dedicated customers that purchase their products all around the world, this is because it delivers on what it claims. Some even order it in bulk online because it's not available in the country they live in or they cant find it. This product has somewhat of a dedicated following because of its effectiveness.
Weighing the pros and cons of this product, if you don't have particularly sensitive skin and are not allergic to any of the ingredients listed the Radox Muscle Soak Bath Therapy Clary Sage and Sea Mineral is worth giving a try. You might get hooked just like everyone else.
