Ringside has gotten into the habit of creating gloves that provide functionality above that provided by the usual boxing glove. The material incorporated into its design allows for a decent level of shock absorption and ensures that the wearer doesn’t deal with the bruised knuckles and swollen hands that usually come with participating in the sport. The glove has an amazing feel due to the fact that it comes already broken in and fitting with the movements of the wearer’s hand; this is especially important due to the fact that a lot of gloves simply don’t come this way and may take months for them to fit in. The padding on the gloves is layered, a feature that many other gloves nowadays simply don’t have. This is one of the features that makes Ringside brand one that goes above and beyond the wearer’s needs. They have a design that really places emphasis on the fact that they are meant for the wearer to have a natural overall feel while the gloves are in place.

Protection

These gloves are designed for use during sparring and other boxing activities; the cushioning that is present in its design allows it to be relatively useful in boxing activities and ensures that the wearer has a decent level of protection for themselves when blocking. Boxing is a sport that requires the wearer to have a decent level of protection for the backhand due to the concentrated punches that are a part of the sport itself.

Quality

Ringside is known for making extremely high-quality gloves, the Ringside Pro Style IMF Tech boxing gloves aren’t outliers by any means. The gloves are fashioned from a leather material that allows them to function and protect the wearer from the potential draining of the pockets that comes with buying inexpensive gloves. The lacing on the gloves is rather standard but, is a feature that isn’t really seen on various other gloves nowadays; this feature protects the gloves from potentially giving the wearer any trouble with looseness or slippage while on. The glove also features a liner on the inside that works to ensure that the wearer has a comfortable fit while they are on hand.

Design

The design of the gloves is one that is actually rather aesthetically appealing. The materials used allow them to provide the wearer with a professional look while the gloves are on hand; the leather material is lush and shines rather nicely which is the main reason why the gloves are able to achieve this effect. They also have the traditional Winning logo on the backhand, which is another thing that allows the gloves to give the wearer that professional feel that most other gloves have simply been lacking. In addition to the logo on the backhand of the gloves. Ringside has also featured their design on the wrist portion of the glove. Ringside chose to design the gloves out of a base color which allows them to provide the wearer with a decent level of aesthetic appeal while the gloves are on hand. The strapping on the wrist portion of the glove also allows them to have a bit of aesthetic appeal and works to give the wearer a bit of a professional look while they are on hand; the lacing on the glove wraps around the wearer’s hand as well.

Fit

These gloves provide the wearer with a tremendous fit due to the many intricacies and the added cushioning that is placed on the inside of the gloves. Ringside fitted the glove with layered padding in the knuckle area that reduces the area space that the wearer has for their hand to move around; this ensures that the wearer is able to retain an overall snug fit while they are wearing the glove. The lacing on the wrist portion of the glove also enable the wearer to retain an overall snug fit due to the level of tightness that it provides them with; unlike Velcro, lacing can be maneuvered and tied to achieve highly variable levels of tightness, which means that this is a feature that enables these gloves to provide the wearer with a snug fit in this area of their hand. The addition of the lacing on the backside of the wearer’s hand also works to ensure that the wearer achieves an above average level of grip on the wrist as well.

Comfort

The foam introduced in this glove’s design isn’t the friendliest when it is first on hand; the material is rather dense and may take a few tries before it is ever truly broken in. That isn’t to say that the material makes this glove the most uncomfortable on the market rather, the material simply requires an above average length of time to truly be broken in before it ever really has the ability to provide the wearer with a great deal of comfort; once the break-in period is over, the material feels extremely plush and provides the wearer with extremely high levels of comfort and cushioning. The strapping on the wrist unit of the gloves and the snug fit that it provides to the wearer is also something to be considered in this category; a snug fit is something that is imperative for the wearer to experience, the lack of it can make a glove extremely uncomfortable for the wearer while in use. The wrist portion of the glove is the reason why it is able to provide the wearer with a decent level of wrist support; the elongated style of the neck of the glove fully covers the area and goes much further down than simply the wrist portion of the glove and allows the wearer to fully experience the feel of the glove. The liner on the inside of the glove does work to reduce a bit o the discomfort felt by the initial breaking in of the cushioning on the inside of the glove though.

Pricing

The price of the gloves is fairly affordable; they can be found at varying price ranges. The materials found throughout the design of the gloves allow for a decent level of comfort and are also of a relatively high grade; this justifies the price of the gloves tremendously and actually adds a fair level of value. Most gloves that are found that have the lacing component are on the more expensive side. With that, the addition of lacing in these gloves design is tremendous. The Injected molded foam in these gloves design also greatly enhances the feel that is provided to the wearer and ensures that they don’t come apart very easily; good cushioning in a glove is very hard to find due to the fact that after a few blows are thrown with the glove, the cushioning can compress a decent amount and lose all ability to provide the wearer with comfort whatsoever. Something else that should be considered along with the purchase of these gloves is the fact that they are designed from a high-quality leather material; genuine leather is used in the making of a glove nowadays is relatively rare and if it is incorporated, makes the price of the gloves skyrocket. That isn’t the case with this model.

Brand

These gloves, as one can probably guess, are designed by Ringside. Ringside is a manufacturer of various boxing materials and do their best to make them as high quality as possible; their other equipment ranges from boxing gloves to speed bags. They have various other boxing gloves to choose from, all with varying levels of comfort and durability. Ringside is based in Lenexa, KS and is known for their high quality, durable boxing gloves. They use several cutting-edge technologies in the creation of the gear such as their IMF, Gel shock, and Dome air; these technologies enable their gloves to be highly shock absorbent and to maintain a relatively decent level of shock absorption while in use. Aside from this particular model, they also carry Heritage, Contender Fight Sports, and Cleto Reyes.

Materials

The materials used in the design of this particular glove and various other models by Ringside, are rather durable and provide the wearer with a high level of functionality when the glove is placed on hand correctly. The majority of the glove is fashioned from a single-grain leather material; this allows the glove to be highly durable and to be able to withstand the high level of activity that generally comes with the use of these gloves. The inside of the gloves is where all of the action happens though; they have Ringside’s IMF technology incorporated into their design. The IMF cushioning enables the glove to be highly shock absorbent and (once broken in) provides the wearer with a decent level of comfort. The lacing that is found in the design of the glove is designed from the standard synthetic material; the synthetic make of the lacing doesn’t do much to take away from the feel and durability of the lacing overall, meaning that they still last for a relatively long time. The gloves also have a mesh lining on the inside of the glove that works to provide the wearer with a decent level of comfort and ensures that the wearer receives a snug fit by the glove.

Reliability

The make of the glove itself is highly reliable; this, much like durability ensures that the wearer has a glove that works tie and time again. The leather make of the glove keeps it from tearing and also works to provide the wearer with a consistently felt punch; this means that the material doesn’t break down easily and the feel of the punch will remain the same with time. The lacing on the gloves also continues to provide the wearer with a steady punch and ensures that the wearer has a snug fitting glove every time that it is placed on his/her hand. The cushioning on the inside of the glove is definitely consistent with the level of comfort and protection that it provides to the wearer during use; the IMF tech takes a decent length of time to break in and, due to this remains consistent during it’s time in use.

Verdict

Overall the design of these gloves is one that allows the wearer to have a very good level of comfort and ensures that one has the utmost protection when throwing a punch of any sort. The material used in the gloves is very high-quality and doesn’t open the wearer up to any of the possible damage that comes along with the use of them. Aside from this, the gloves provide the wearer with a decent level of comfort once the material is broken in and doesn’t really take away from the feel of the gloves themselves.
