Nate Diaz is in hot water after an altercation with a Logan Paul look alike led to a brawl, and now a warrant for his arrest in New Orleans.
New Orleans Police Department spokesperson Karen A. Boudrie confirmed that the Stockton native was wanted for second-degree battery. In a widely circulated video, Diaz is shown getting hands on an individual named Rodney Peterson, choking him out. Additionally, Peterson would then get dropped on the ground, resulting in a subsequent head injury.
Jake, Logan’s brother, is scheduled to fight Diaz in a boxing match. Diaz and the Paul brothers have been bickering on social media for months. Diaz, known for his temper, probably needed only a small push to lose his cool.
At a Misfits Boxing event, Diaz caused a disturbance in the venue, and he threw a water bottle at reality star Chase Demoor. The altercation began there, and Diaz took the dispute outside, where the incident occurred.
Below is a full statement from Boudrie regarding Diaz’s warrant, courtesy of MMA Fighting:
“At or about 2:10am on Saturday April 22- NOPD’s Bourbon Street. Promenade officers and supervisors were alerted to a large altercation in the 400 block of Bourbon St,” the statement read. “The officers were able to disperse the crowd. Witness alerted the officers to a white male subject who was believed to be unconscious. A short time later, the subject regained consciousness. Officers observed the subject was bleeding from the rear of his head and EMS was summoned to render aid. After investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for Nate Diaz. He has been charged with second degree battery. He is not in custody at this time.”

Jake Paul vs Nate Diaz Boxing Match in Jeopardy After Diaz’s Second-Degree Battery Charge
If the court convicts Diaz, he could face eight years in state prison and a $2,000 fine. Diaz hasn’t issued a statement yet about the incident and the NOPD hasn’t taken him into custody.
This situation could impact Diaz’s upcoming boxing match with Paul, and the 38-year-old MMA veteran needs to resolve the matter by August to prevent any issues. If the Paul fight falls apart, Diaz won’t make as much money as he would have for the rest of his life.
Paul is trying to salvage the event. He reached out to fellow YouTuber-turned-boxer KSI to step in as a backup opponent should Diaz back out.
