Cub Swanson vs. Hakeem Dawodu set for UFC Fight Night in August

Cub Swanson is heading back to featherweight after Johnathan Martinez knocked him out in his bantamweight debut last October. The 39-year-old Swanson returns on the August 12 UFC Fight Night card against Hakeem Dawodu. Though Swanson is far removed from his prime, he’s still fighting well and recently signed a four-fight contract before the Martinez fight.

Dawodu is also coming off a loss to Julian Erosa last September. The Canadian is also 3-2 in his last fight, but would likely be the favorite ahead of the bout. The main event of the card is a welterweight battle between Rafael Dos Santos and Vicente Luque.

Michael Chandler will fight Conor McGregor for his “legacy”

The saga of Conor McGregor’s recent return to the UFC is playing out like a slow-motion trainwreck. Nobody is hurting more from it than Michael Chandler, who was pegged as McGregor’s opponent following the conclusion of The Ultimate Fighter 31. McGregor failed to submit a test sample to re-enter the USADA testing pools, and that has all but doomed the fight.

Chandler hasn’t given up hope. He believes that McGregor seeks to preserve his legacy as the reason on Daniel Cormier’s YouTube channel. That seems noble enough, but with McGregor currently facing a potential rape charge along with all the other mischief he’s finding himself in, his legacy might not be as much of a priority as Chandler believes it is.

GSP volunteers to train Elon Musk if his mom lets him fight

Why anybody would want to watch Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerburg fight each other is beyond me, but it should come as no surprise that UFC President Dana White is trying to score a payday for his promotion. Though the 51-year-old Musk was receptive to the idea, the Tesla and SpaceX founder said he can’t fight at the behest of his mother. If Mrs. Musk does let her son come out and play, none other than Georges St. Pierre is volunteering to train him.

Jon Jones reached out to Zuckerburg to serve as a coach, setting the stage for the most bizarre season of The Ultimate Fighter if it comes to fruition. I’m personally not interested in seeing two insanely rich people gently pat each other. People love freak shows, and it’ll be the biggest one yet if it comes off.
